💼 What are Company Profiles?
Company Profiles are extensions of your main profile that let you connect the companies you work with to your applications. Whether you're a contractor submitting on behalf of a company or a business owner applying for a permit, this feature adds an extra layer to your identity.
One of the best parts? Everyone in your company will have access to the applications you submit through the company — and you’ll have access to theirs too!
🏢 How to create or join a Company Profile
Setting up a Company Profile is quick and makes sharing applications with teammates super easy.
To get started:
Head to the ‘Companies’ link in the bottom-left corner of your GovWell dashboard.
Click to expand the menu and select ‘Overview’ to see all the companies you’re part of.
This page is your My Companies overview. If you’re not part of any companies yet, you’ll have the option to either request to join one or create your own.
1. Joining a company
The first option - 'Request to join' - allows you to search for an existing company profile in GovWell and send a request to a company administrator to join their profile. Simply use the 'Search Companies' field to look for a company and click 'Request to join' to send a request!
2. Creating a company
If you want to create your own company profile, simply click the 'Create company' button! A window prompting you to enter your company details will appear. Once all the relevant fields are completed, press 'Save changes' to create the profile!
3. Your Company Dashboard
Welcome to your company dashboard! This is where you can manage your company details and who has access to it.
Use the ‘Edit company’ button (top-right) to update company information at any time.
To invite a user to your company, look for the 'Invite user' button on the right side
An Invite User to Company pop up will appear
User to Invite: use this field to search for a user to invite to your company. You can search for user using their name, company, email or phone details. Note: the person you want to invite to your company must have a GovWell account
Role: select whether the user you're inviting will be an Admin or an Employee in your company. Employees can only access all the records associated with the company. Admins can manage the company details and manage user memberships.
Title: enter an appropriate role title for the user you're inviting
After you send the invite, an Invitations box will appear showing your invitations
4. Accepting an invite to join a company
If another user invites you to join their company profile in GovWell, we will notify you via email
The 'View invites on GovWell' button will take you to the Companies overview page, where you'll find your very own invitation to join the company profile!
And that's it! You can now access your company profile from the dropdown menu at the bottom left corner or through the 'My Companies' page
5. Accessing the applications linked to your company
Within your 'Records' page, look for the 'Applicant Company' column - any applications assigned to the companies you're a team member of will be present in this page.
