You might encounter situations where an application has the wrong address or parcel listed in the Property tab. As an applicant, you may have accidentally selected the wrong parcel and need to update it. It’s possible to update the address and parcel to reflect the correct GIS-linked information. Let’s walk through the steps!

We'll use the example application below:

To update the address, you'll first need to add the new one. Click the '+Add Address/Parcel' button to add the correct address to this application.

Enter the address you want to add. If the organization's Geographical Information System (GIS) is linked to GovWell, it will automatically find and match any registered addresses in the system when you search. You can confirm if an address is GIS-linked by the green link icon next to the address/parcel search field.

You have now successfully added a second address/parcel to your application!

How do I update remove an address from an application?

Note: Updating or removing an address from an application can only be done by City Staff or Admins!

If you need to change the address in an application, you can easily do so by following these steps:

1.Update the submittal with the new address:

From the 'Overview' section of the application page, scroll down to the Form Submittal section and click the 'Update Submittal' button to edit the form's information. In this section, you'll find the Address/Parcel field that the applicant entered. Update the address as needed, then save the changes to update the address in the application.

2.Remove an address from the Property tab:

If a second address has been added to the Property tab and needs to be removed, you can easily do so by clicking the small trash can icon located at the far-right side of the Address/Parcels table. In some cases, you may need to scroll horizontally to find this icon.

It's important to note that the original address entered by the applicant cannot be removed from the Property tab. This is indicated in the tooltip that appears when you hover your cursor over the trash can icon.
