An Application Has the Wrong Record Type! How Do I Fix It?

In some cases, applicants may submit an application using the incorrect form, causing it to follow a workflow that doesn’t apply to their request. GovWell allows you to easily correct this by changing the record type and starting the appropriate workflow.

In the Details tab of the application you need to update, locate the Record Type row in the Overview section and click the pencil icon to select the correct record type.

A small pop-up window will appear. From there, select the appropriate record type and confirm the change.

And that’s it! The workflow steps for the newly selected record type will now be available, and you can continue working on the application using the correct workflow.

You’ll still be able to revisit the previous workflow whenever needed by using the dropdown option to select other workflows within the record.
