In GovWell, plan reviews are organized by versions: you submit a set of plans, staff reviews them, and then either approves the plans or returns them with a request for updates or revisions.

Previously, if you needed to update your plan set, you had to ask jurisdiction staff to create a new plan set and begin a brand-new review. The new Plan Set Revisions feature changes that!

This feature lets you request ad hoc revisions on already approved plan sets. Instead of asking staff to create a new set, you can simply initiate a revision and complete the process within the same plan set.

Best of all, revisions don’t disrupt your current workflow. They run in parallel with whichever step you’re on. For example, if a revision is needed while the workflow is already in the Inspections step, jurisdiction staff can continue progressing through inspections while reviewing the revisions at the same time.

🤔 How to Request a revision

You can request a plan revision only if your plans were already approved. If your plan set was previously approved, an option to start a revision will be available on the Files tab

Click on it and a prompt to request the revision will appear on your screen

In order to submit the revision request, you must:

  1. Provide a reason for Revision

  2. Upload additional or replace existing files

👀 From the reviewer's side

After you submit a revision request, reviewers will see it under the Additional Tasks section, along with the reason you provided. The revision is then processed like a regular plan review, running in parallel with the current workflow.
