I can't create a new plan set version / the 'Create Version' button is greyed out!

In some cases, reviewers may request modifications to the submitted plans or ask for additional information to meet the requirements of the permit being applied for.

When that happens, the plan review status is updated to Request Updates, and a task to create a new plan set must be completed before another review can take place.


🤔 I'm trying to create a new plan set version but the button is greyed out! How can I fix this?

If you're about to create a new plan set version but the button is greyed out, it means that:

1. The files in the plan set are the same as the previous plan set

For a new plan set to be accepted in the system, the files must be updated or new files must be uploaded so the system can detect changes made to address the reviewer’s requests. If you upload an updated version of an existing file, the system will detect the change and allow the creation of the new plan set to proceed.

In the image above, we replaced the ‘building-permit.pdf’ file, which enabled the creation of the new version.

2. A required file is missing

In some cases, you’ll need to add additional files to your plan set to create a new Plan Version. Our system will highlight any missing files.

Once all required files are uploaded, the option to create the new version will be enabled!
